How can online deliberation help researchers engage the public and other stakeholders in scientific research? This question will be explored by Michal Trčka from the Heyrovský Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, who will participate in the Citizen Science Workshop programme at Masaryk University (MUNI) in November 2026.

Michal Trčka, who is responsible for the sociological aspects of the AMULET project, will lead a workshop entitled “Deliberix: Engaging Diverse Stakeholders in Research through Online Deliberation.”

The workshop will introduce participants to the potential of online deliberative platforms in citizen science, drawing on practical experience gained through the OP JAK AMULET project. Following a brief introduction, participants will have the opportunity to try the Deliberix platform themselves by contributing their own statements and responding to the views of others.

Through this interactive exercise, participants will explore how online deliberation can bring together diverse perspectives, encourage public participation in research, and help identify both shared priorities and differences of opinion.

The workshop will also demonstrate how social science approaches can contribute to research projects by creating opportunities for dialogue between scientists, stakeholders, and the wider public.

The Citizen Science Workshop programme at Masaryk University will take place on 3, 9, and 12 November 2026.
